Crown Worldwide Group in Hong Kong picked up the ‘Green Environmental Protection’ award for the second consecutive year at the prestigious Master Insight ESG Achievement Awards 2024.
The awards, which were held on July 29th, recognized the company for its outstanding contributions to reducing its environmental impact.
Through 2023, the team worked to switch five vehicles to be fully electric, while installing a number of charging points. It also made a significant investment in solar panels to support with powering operations at data centers.
Work to install a photovoltaic system on the roof of Date Center 1 was commissioned in 2023. It is set to reduce Crown’s emissions in Hong Kong by approximately 100 CO2e tons.
Data Center 2 will see the installation of a 467kw system this year, reducing CO2e by 250 tons per annum, followed by a second 423kw system, which will reduce CO2e by approximately 226 tons per annum.
Solar panels have also recently been installed at Crown Wine Cellars.
Meanwhile, Crown Facilities Management Ltd in Hong Kong fulfilled the requirements for obtaining the Wastewi$e Certificate, by identifying waste disposal by type and recycling, in accordance with policy, guidelines and action plans that include waste management targets.
Other initiatives included requests going out to suppliers to minimize the amount of packaging they use.
Crown has embarked on an approach governed by data, education and empowerment, and investment.
